Amazon’s negative-numbers help also notes customers have several days to return after they receive the item, so the dispatched record and the return record may not share a report.

What Amazon’s help actually says

Negative numbers (Earnings Report help hub topic GF7VJDBPANJTKYQE): they represent returned or refunded products. Credit required a properly formatted link, a purchase, and accepted delivery. Refuse delivery after credit → subtract when the product comes back. Third-party seller refunds can subtract too.

Disqualified purchases on the Commission Income Statement / Program Policies (page notes an April 14, 2026 update): among other exclusions, any Product order where a cancellation, return, or refund has been initiated. Read the live list. Marketplace text can differ.
