Amazon Associates or ShareASale for Physical Products: The Network Split
Amazon Associates vs ShareASale for physical products: pick by catalog, cookie, and creative control—not a second “best networks” list. Check official program pages.

Amazon Associates vs ShareASale for physical products is a two-door pick. The reader wants a thing that ships. You decide which tracking door matches that page.
This page is the Network Split. It is not Affiliate Networks for New Bloggers (three-network map). It is not Amazon Associates for beginners. Cookie math stays on Amazon Associates Cookie Window and Commission.
Use Amazon when the shopping habit is already Amazon and you accept Associates’ clock and category rates. Use ShareASale when a named brand’s merchant terms (cookie, creative, commission) beat that—and that merchant actually approves you.
Disclosure: CashPilot may earn a commission from programs we join later. Impact declined us before; we do not invent approvals. Verify live official terms. No fake EPC tables.

Official doors: Amazon Associates and ShareASale. As of this writing, ShareASale’s public site states that ShareASale is now part of Awin and that new customers are invited to launch with Awin. If you already have a publisher login, confirm the live path before you tell a client “just sign up at ShareASale.” Cookie and commission still sit on the merchant, not on a network-wide slogan.
Amazon’s US help (Associates Central) is the owner for the click-to-cart clock: qualifying items in the cart within 24 hours of the Special Link, with a cart-expiry story if they leave without buying, and credit after purchase, delivery, and full payment. Re-read that node—and any shipped-and-paid qualify notes in Central—before you quote a number on a client page. Full payout detail stays on the cookie-window owner.
Catalog door vs merchant door
Amazon is one program with category rates and official linking tools. You maintain ASINs. The reader often already has Prime muscle memory.
ShareASale is a catalog. Each merchant writes the cookie, the creative rules, and the commission. Open that merchant’s terms. Do not quote a blogger’s “ShareASale is 30 days” as law. Awin/ShareASale public pages do not replace the offer sheet inside the dashboard.
If the brand you want is not on either door, stop. The three-network map is where Impact belongs. This URL will not grow into a third listicle.
When Amazon is the honest door
The product is a commodity the reader will search on Amazon anyway. Your page is a comparison or a tight gift guide. You will use official linking tools, not cloaks. SiteStripe belongs on its own CashPilot page when the job is “how do I build the link,” not “which network.”
Amazon is a weak door when you need a longer merchant cookie on a considered purchase, or the brand forbids Amazon as a sales channel. Then hunt that brand on ShareASale (or another network on the map) instead of forcing an ASIN.
You still need original public pages before you paste Special Links. Application rules live on Associates’ site, not in this split.
When ShareASale is the honest door
You found a merchant whose product you can defend—see Choosing Affiliate Offers—and their terms beat Amazon’s clock or creative limits for that SKU.
Account approval is not merchant approval. Expect a no from some brands. Do not open five accounts to dodge it. If the live signup now routes through Awin, follow that official flow instead of hunting an old ShareASale form in a screenshot from 2019.
First-sale mechanics that are not Amazon-specific: The Smallest Honest Test for Your First Affiliate Sale.
One mistake beginners often make is joining ShareASale (or Awin) and then promoting Amazon ASINs from that dashboard. Wrong door. The Network Split is per product page, not per “I made an account.”
Do not dual-tag
One button, one program. Two pixels on one “Buy” is how reports lie and how programs get angry. Disclosure still belongs near the first affiliate mention: Affiliate Disclosure.
You can run both programs on a site. You cannot honestly credit the same click twice. If the reader might buy the same kettle on Amazon or the brand site, pick the door that matches the sentence you wrote—Amazon habit versus brand-direct—and live with it.
FAQ
Amazon or ShareASale for physical products?
Score the split. Amazon equals habit plus catalog. ShareASale equals a merchant’s terms you actually read. Confirm the live Awin/ShareASale signup if you are new.
Is this the networks map?
No. The map is three doors. This page is the two-door physical pick. Impact stays on the map.
Which cookie is longer?
Amazon’s public US help is a short cart window. ShareASale is per merchant. Read both official sources. Do not memorize a network-wide ShareASale number.
Can I use both?
On different products, if rules allow. Not on one button. Keep disclosures clear on every page that earns.
Is ShareASale auto-approved?
The account is not every merchant. Brands decide. Amazon has a separate application.
What about Impact?
On the networks map. Not this URL.
Website required?
Follow each official application. No Amazon Special Links before acceptance.
Official doors?
Associates and ShareASale (Awin note on that domain). Merchant terms live in the dashboard.
Fill the split for one product page this week. Join that door only. Then write the page—not a third network tab.
